I used to think a blog was a complete and total waste of time, and was usually baffled as to how someone who blogged could monetize a blog in the first place. Maybe you can relate? Just seemed like a ton of content writing for little-to-zero real results, and if your goal was to make money and/ or gain Search Engine Optimization (SEO) "juice" with Google, you'd have to wait for years before you got a decent page rank. Today, I see blogging completely different. I no longer look at blogging as way to earn any kind of significant income from within the blog itself. Instead, I see blogging as sort of a "Cyber Date" that you take your prospect on that's intended to help each of you to get to know each other and determine if future business together might be a good idea or not. This "Cyber Date" allows an exchange of ideas, solutions to problems, and hopefully an offer to take things to the next level - a "Cyber Lead Magnet" free gift offer. Kind of a "Second Cyber Date," if you will. |
